I am starting to wonder if the term "snow day" has any meaning to the administration at Salt Lake Community college. We do live in an area where extreme weather tends to appear. Due to this fact we have a small possibility for "snow days" that we all desperately hope for. After the snowstorms I have driven through in the last few weeks, I have realized that this term no longer exists.
Today, when I left for work, it was average weather. The sun was shining, little bit of wind... A taste of spring was in the air. I even decided to swap my wool coat for a hoodie. By the time I got out of work at 3:30 a full blown blizzard had begun. The snow was falling sideways, it was freezing, and the roads were terrible. I called the weather info line expecting my night classes to be canceled (keep in mind this storm is supposed to rage until later tonight). To my suprise nothing has been cancelled. I cant help but wonder... Who's the ASS HOLE who is in charge of making that call? I have a feeling that he/she left work early to avoid the snow and is now sitting in their warm living room LAUGHING at all the students who have to drive through a white hell to get to class. I have a math test tonight, so just skipping wasnt an option.
The roads are terrible and I want to white wash whoever the person is who refuses to shut this place down.
I want my snow day.
ps. I don't know what's going on at the University, but if they haven't cancelled then screw them too.
