At birth he weighed almost exactly 4 lbs and was 17 inches long. He is very tall for a baby his age, can't imagine where he got that. He was born June 19th at 9:51 AM via c-section. His birth signifies the end of an ordeal that challenges my brothers heart transplant for the most difficult time of my life. For all of the support and love we have been shown from friends and family, from the bottom of my heart... Thank You. I don't know how we could have made it through without all of you.

As of now Dylan is still living in the NICU. He has been gaining weight and has almost made it to 5 lbs. With the exception of eating, he manages all normal life functions on his own. No ventilators, IV's, or isolated incubation. I should mention he was never on a ventilator. We are able to hold him and spend as much time as we want in his room. As soon as he learns to breastfeed he will be coming home. Hopefully we will have him home within the next 2 weeks.

(nose tube is for food)

15 days to Dylan

More headache today. Last night we ended up on the main floor in Labor and Delivery. This is essentially the ICU of the Womens Center. Sunni has been having some bleeding and contractions for the last couple days. This morning everything looked fine, and the bleeding had completely stopped, so we were sent back upstairs. Around 6 this evening Sun had an episode of major bleeding. The amount of blood was similar to what we experienced in Wyoming over a month ago. We were moved back downstairs into labor and delivery. Both Sunni and the Baby are stable and doing fine. She will be under close watch until the bleeding stops. If the bleeding gets worse they may have to deliver Dylan sometime tonight. They also need to watch Dylan closely to make sure he doesn't react negatively to what is going on. I asked the Doctor if she could predict what she thought would happen and she said it could go either way. We are at 32 weeks today so Dylan should be fine one way or the other. Two more weeks inside his mom will make his stay in the NICU much shorter. This pregnancy has been hitting turbulence ever since the baby shower. First episode of bleeding was after we picked up a load of baby supplies from Nicole. Second bleeding episode was after the baby shower. I think this kid is tired of waiting for his toys.

16 days to Dylan

The last couple of days have worn us down a little bit. A series of minor concerns have kept Sunni hooked up to monitors and talking to different Doctors most of the time. Her moral is a little low and two more weeks in bed are a little much for her to handle. This morning, during her no-stress test, a deceleration in Dylans heartbeat was monitored. After they buzzed him he woke up and the heartbeat returned to normal. Over the next hour everything looked fine so they sent her back upstairs.

Dr. Ponder came in this morning to answer questions and evaluate Sunni's situation. She told us the decelerations and bleeding are normal for P-PROM patients. She said that overall, Sunni and the Baby are doing great. This was great for Sunni's mood so hopefully the rest of the afternoon goes good.

Waiting for the Baby

I have been meaning to leave updates on my blog about our extended stay in the maternity ward. I am hoping to look back on this and get a laugh out of it one day. Hey remember when we were stuck in that hospital for 5 weeks? Ha ha ha!

Anyways...

We are about 2 1/2 weeks into this ordeal. Considering the circumstances, things are going great. Chances are Dylan doesn't even realize that things are out of the normal. He has healthy heart patterns and the hospital staff are optimistic that Sunni will stay pregnant until July 2nd. Today Sunni was feeling some fairly strong contractions. Strong enough that they hooked her up to the monitor for a few hours. One contraction was so big it led to an examination to make sure her cervix was closed. We have both been sleeping much better lately. Life at this hospital is becoming our routine. Family and friends kept Sunni entertained for most of the day and she fell asleep in a good mood. Overall status: GOOD.

In other news,

I am working through my last semester at SLCC. I am struggling a little bit with my Strengths of Materials class. Calc III with Chuck has been the easiest math class since Math 1010, so that's a relief. My FE Prep class started on Thursday. I am taking the FE Exam this October. This is a year earlier than most people take it, but I am hoping to get it out of the way. If I can pass I am sure it will help me get some good internship options next summer. It will be good to finally get to the U. Getting into the Engineering program at the U has been a goal of mine for almost 3 years.

17 more days in this hospital

Goodnight

Space... I am starting my journey as soon as my Ramen finishes boiling. I will documenting my experience, episode by episode, with brief summary's as my Trekkie marathon rages on. This project will take months, but let's be honest... what else do I have to do? After I have completed my quest I hope you all will join me at a victory party. The victory party will consist of me, my friends, and Star Trek Trivial Pursuit. If you want any chance in beating me, you better join me in Trekkie land. It is the true story about the construction of the Brooklyn bridge. Did you know that bridge is over 100 years old and was built using very primitave steam engines? Also, did you know that when this bridge was built, it's towers were the tallest structures in New York?

Anyways, I came across a couple paragraphs that made a lot of sense to me. Most of the people I hang out with are extremely interested in history, politics, or both. I am interested in these things as well, but not in the same way they are. My main interest is with science and technology. I have said, over and over again, that I cant take part in politics because I dont feel like I have a real option. In my opinion I can choose a liar, or a liar.

Here's a little bit from this book. It sums my thoughts up pretty good. This is an article written by Thomas Kinsella for an old Brooklyn newspaper called the Eagle. It was written after John Roeblings death. Roebling designed the bridge, then died before construction began. His son took over after his death. In his day he was one of the most famous Americans alive.

"The great boast of this land," he wrote, "is twofold - the political works of the [Founding] Fathers, and the material triumphs of science, of which Roebling was, with scarcely an exception, the greatest hero." But the politician of the present, he went on, was nothing more than "a thing of tricks and dodges." About all the modern-day politician could do was to undo "the grand creation of former days." The politician's words and deeds were as nothing, he said, when compared to the works of a man like John A. Roebling.
"One such life as Roebling's was worth more than those of a whole convention full of jabbering and wrangling politicians." Concerning politicians, Kinsella could speak with some authority, his Brooklyn readers knew, for he was one himself.

Friends, do yourselves a favor and read this book. History buffs, policial buffs, or just avid readers. This is one of the best books I have read in years.

.

Goodbye Sirius

I had some great times with my satellite radio. However, I recently decided to let it go. I think that satellite radio is great, but I think they are too late. The truth is, you can get commercial free music for free on the internet. If you have an iphone you can stream it just like a satellite radio. Did I mention this is all free? I think this fact might be a knife in the heart of satellite radios. Sirius, good luck.

on another note

Less than 2 weeks and I will be done with finals.

thank god

Sabotage

Just when I thought Calculus was safe... It's basically a one bedroom apartment in the basement. Also, for those of you who don't know my parents, they are cool and like to get their drink on. We have been living here for a week and things are finally settling. Last semester I realized that working and going to school is not going to work out. I am planning on dedicating the next few years of my life to finishing school. This show seems to be some kind of a response to Shot of Love with Tilla Tequila (whore). This show stars Brody Jenner, one of the douche bags from the god awful show, The Hills. Brody has lost his best friend. Poor guy, good thing MTV agreed to let him have a show so he could find a new one. The lucky winner of this show will get to move to Hollywood and actually be friends with Brody and his other two "bros". These two are named Frankie and Sleazy-T, this is not a joke. When asked, "Brody, what is a Bromance?" he smiles like an idiot and proudly relies, "No Games, No BS, someone who just keeps it real with you." This show has got to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever come across. Nothing like a bunch of dudes fighting each other so they can become best friends with another guy. I would rather spend the rest of my life alone, in complete solitude, than ever have to hear this Brody character speak. Tell you what, I would rather have my anus and my mouths functions switched, for my entire life, before I even want to hear his name again. Yes friends, that would mean I would be shitting out of my mouth. On second thought, that would give me and this jackass Brody something in common, so never mind. Will Brody find his one true friend? According to him that's what the show is all about. Be sure to tune in to see which lucky loser gets the chance of a lifetime. It's going to be an emotional ride. "Thing are gonna get teary, who knew that bro's cried this much!", Thanks Brody.

Here's a picture of our new hero Brody and next to him is a picture of his ex-BFF. Don't those look like a couple of guys you just HAVE to be friends with. I tell you what, if the blond one ever has a Bromance show then I'm in. I wish I could have seen this relationship fall apart. I like to imagine it involved a lot of screaming, slapping, and of course crying. Not the casual desintigration of friendship that most respectable men go through, but a complete blowout. A hissing catfight followed by months of shit talk to each others friends. Go for it bro's.

Hey Teacher, Leave Those Kids Alone

Don't fuck with the middle east.

I learned that lesson the hard way last night, halfway through a great game of RISK. I just finished my final project for AUTO CAD and that is a huge relief. For 10 pages of drafting I spent about 30 hours staring at a computer screen. For my other class I had to build a scale model of an existing structure. I chose the Great Wall of China... It came out looking great.

All that's left is a Math final and a 5 page report on a missing child. (I am re-taking an old Criminal Justice class) and then it's sweet sweet freedom.

My studying marathon has been fueled by Pink Floyd and Fleet Foxes. We were walking behind some guy who was smoking a rolled cigarette. One of my friends says, "Hey, I don't think that's tobacco he's smoking." The other guy says, "I wouldnt know, I don't know what pot smells like."

We continue walking in a semi-awkward silence. I got the feeling they were waiting for me to comment. Funny how these guys, who barely know me, assume I will enlighten them on whether or not we are witnessing someone actually smoke, *gasp*, Marijuana!

"Guys, he's definately smoking tobacco"

Que judgemental stares

I understand that many religion enthusiasts may not be exposed to pot smoke on a regular basis. This is a group project. My partner and I have conflicting schedules so we decided to meet at 8 AM today. That's 2 hours of sleep lost from my regular routine... oh well, that's life.

There I was at 8:05 wondering where my partner was when I get a text message. Partner can't make it. It would have been nice to know this before I hauled my tired ass all the way to school!

It's really not that big of a deal, I had a bunch of homework anyways... but sometimes a guy needs to bitch.

On another note... I have been listening to a lot of Deerhunter. It's good stuff. Here I am, sitting in my apartment, completely broke. I am trying not to think about it, but I am being torn apart. Last time he was in Salt Lake I promised myself I would see him next time. Unfortunately I didn't expect tickets to be $30. I was planning on going anyways, but I recently realized I have to register my car this month. Well Mr. Sedaris, I guess I will have to catch you next time.

what a bummer...

Also,

I watched The Happening with Sunni last night. That piece of crap was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Zoe... really?? It makes me sick to my stomach to think how horrible it was. Forcing someone to watch that movie would be a great example of cruel and unusual punishment. Was this movie written? I mean... was there actually a script and a plan... or did everyone just show up and shoot 90 minutes of crappy improv?

Debates

An odd thing happened last night.

I watched the Presidential Debate. I have a lot of friends who will probably be pretty suprised when they hear this. Unforunately, for all my polically oriented friends, I have some bad news. I don't know if this is how all debates go, but I hope to god it isn't. I can't imagine that anyones views could have been altered from this experience. This debate meant about as much to me as the ridiculous commercials these two canidates force us to watch. Diareah of the mouth, a panicked attempt to say anything that sounds good, but not really meaning it. I felt awkward watching the debate. It seemed to me like these characters were one smart ass grin away from a full blown slap fight. I hoped that getting somewhat involved would help me find some kind of interest in politics. However, my big problem with politics is politicians. I hate politicians. Watching these two squabble on national tv just reinforced my previous standings. While I am excited for any change in leadership, I look at our two frontrunners, and I don't feel any better. I am starting to seriously worry that our country is doomed.

Obama looks like a muppet, McCain looks like an overstuffed mannequin

God Help Us

Don't worry friends, I am actually more politically involved that I have ever been, and I will continue to pay attention. I was under the impression that all powerplants were huge compounds out in the middle of nowhere. I guess I have just played a lot of Sim City in my days. We have a power plant just west of our downtown area. If you have ever driven west in I-80 on a cold winter day, and noticed huge plumes of steam coming from a weird building... that's it.

That plant provides power for about 700 homes. It is mainly used during the summer months to help provide an extra boost for all of our air conditioning. These fella's dont fool around, they tear through $1,000,000 worth of natural gas every month or so. I find that hard to believe, but I swear that's what the tour guide told me. They used to run on coal, but were layering the entire valley with soot, so switched to natural gas.

First we walked around focussing on the engineering aspects of the plant. We discussed psi, heat, rpms, turbines, boilers, and other complicated nonsense. The boiler houses a giant fireball that we got to look at. Four valves pump natural gas into a giant twirling inferno that hovers in the middle of the boiler. Awesome

The highlight of the tour came at the end, for me. We went into the control center of the plant. I was immediately reminded of Homer Simpson. This control booth looked exactly like the cartoon version. Not to mention the jolly, beer plumped, Homerish man running the show. I believe his name was Steve. I scanned the room for doughnuts but didn't find any. Other than that it was an exact replica.

I have met Homer Simpson, have you?

David Sedaris

I just heard some very exciting news. I have been buried in school, so I was looking forward to this shin dig all week. It's been a while since I really let loose, so I knew I was going get good and drunk. I accomplished that goal with a half pint of whisky and a bunch of PBR's. Everything was going well until I started talking to some kid about music. This "connoisseur" of music had no idea what he was getting himself into. Poor bastard. I find out that he is completely unaware that Modest Mouse had any albums before "Good News..." When I hear things like this I get excited and I always insist on immediately introducing them to a time when Modest Mouse wasn't a terrible band. I take on the role of a wise sage teaching the ignorant youth.

After a few minutes of "The Lonesome Crowded West" this kid says the new Modest Mouse material is SOOOO much better than the old stuff. Then he adds to my rage by trying to compare MM to the band Brand New. THEN, says that the new Brand New album is so much better than Modest Mouse, period. According to this kid Brand New have better lyrics than Modest Mouse. When I tell him he is retarded he gets really upset. I refuse to speak another word to this kid about music. I rudely shut him out, to his face. I am then threatened.

"I am so mad right now that I feel like punching you in the face!", is what he says to me.

"Go ahead buddy, I'll happily get punched before I even mention those two bands in the same sentence!", was my reply.

Nate... where were you? If you had been drunk at this party with me, god only knows what would have happened.

To end the story. There was a lot of yelling and cursing, but nobody got in a fight. Really though... for those of you who know of Isaac Brock's tendencies to get in a bar fight. Wouldn't a brawl have been fitting?? Maybe next time.

PS... Same kid informed us all that homosexuality is a choice. He was extremely rude to a couple of my gay friends. In his words, "Gay men just choose to be gay because they are afraid of women!"

Dubai Tower

Video for CEEN 1100 Presentation

Thank You MOKB

Big Time Blogger MOKB Helps Out Small Time Stranger!!

That's right. I have had an addiction to books ever since I was a little kid. This probably explains the high powered lenses I have weighing down my glasses. I will read anything; fiction, non fiction, fantasy, horror, crime, biographies... as long as it's well written. Some of my favorite books are Capote's In Cold Blood, David Sedaris Naked, Tim Dorsey Florida Road Kill, and Terry Goodkinds The Sword of Truth series. One of these authors, David Sedaris, is the funniest writer I have ever come across. His humor is very dry and witty. You need to be able to appreciate a subtle, intelligent style of sarcasm to fully digest one of his books. He recently came out with his sixth book of essays called, "When You Are Engulfed In Flames". I have only had this book for a few hours and I have already torn through the first few chapters. Until now, his book Naked has been my favorite of the six, but I am starting to wonder if this new book will take the number one spot.

The book is on sale, 30% off, at Borders. Do yourself a favor and go pick it up.

oops

Hola,

I was just notified by vore.michael (via the net) that Midlakes song is not a remake of another bands song. That is what the band is called! AND THE SONG IS CALLED ROSCOE! The reason for my excitement is simple. I heard this incredible song on "Left of Center" on Sirius a few months ago. I meant to write down who the band was, but I completely forgot... then changed station... which erased my playback list. Anyways... I have emailed the DJ's on left of center, asked friends, and searched the web (all in vain) trying to find this song. Sure enough, when I had lost all hope... The song plays again on "Left of Center". I was staring at my satellite radio, completely dumbfounded, that my search had finally ended.

Roscoe is a remake of an old song. I have to be honest, I have no idea who originally wrote it, but I'm really not concerned with that, because Midlake's version does it for me. It is the first track on their album, The Trials of Van Occupanther. Not only is the first song good, but the entire album keeps pace. I am so happy that I found out who sang this song because this album is a keeper. A few of my other favorites are Head Home, Young Bride, and We Gathered in Spring.

If you are a fan of mellow bands with a lot of vocal harmonizing you will love this album.

She and Him

My friend Nate has been telling me about this band for months. For me, they have been one of those bands you constantly hear about, but never get around to listening to. Last week, FINALLY, I got my hands on their album Volume One. Friends, this is an album you need to have. Ever since the Rilo Kiley let down I have been itching for another female lead singer. While I love these She and Him songs, it makes me a little sad. This is the album Rilo Kiley should have made, or at least something similar. Well, when old friends disappoint you and leave you to writhe in agony at even the MENTION of their awful new album, it's a good thing that we have artists like Zooey and Ben who are still putting out folky rock that is a pleasure to listen to.

Radiohead then and now

Then,

Now,

Hard to choose which is better! They are one of the very few electronic bands I love, and it's easy to see why. They are amazing. For a long time I searched, in vain, for another die hard fan. For how popular this band is, fellow fanatics are hard to find. UNTIL! I found out that my friend Marty is also a fan. Both of us are constantly telling each other how much we need to see this band! My brother overhears me talking about Daft Punk at the dinner table a couple weeks ago and he blurts out, "Is that the one more time band? 'Cause I saw them in Vegas a few months ago". This is a clip from the concert he got to see. I am a very jealous person.

PS. It's ok I guess, reminds me of the days I was obsessed with these things. Then a little something called APPLE came into my life and I have never looked back.

The best part about using this PC is watching NETFLIX movies online. It has gotten to a point where I rarely even turn on my TV. I just log into netflix.

Through the beauty of online movie watching, I just went on a Dexter marathon. This show stars Michael C. Hall, most of us know him as "David" from Six Feet Under. I wasn't sure what to think about him staring as a lovable serial killer, but I guess I should have had faith.

This show is great. Season 2 isn't out, but I can download the episodes from iTunes. It might just be worth $25.

Anti War Yes. Anti Troops?

My sister had a party tonight, celebrating her high school graduation. It was a good time. I manned the BBQ, drank a lot of vodka and beer, and overheard a lot of conversations. One in particular caught my interest. The father of one of my sisters old friends is a Colonel in the Army. He has been in Iraq for almost a year. Apparently this is a well known fact in their high school. On the last day of this girls senior year, in the last five minutes, one of her classmates stands up and lets out a rant about the "evil" people who are participating in the war in Iraq. Honestly, it shocked me when I heard this. I am far from pro war, but I will certainly support friends and peers who are sent to fight. I might not agree with what they're fighing for, but a lot of these people are my age (most younger) and I definately want every single one of them to come home safe. Now I understand that this was just some ignorant 18 year old who made this comment, but I wonder... Do people think the solution to the Iraq problem so simple? That we can just drop everything and leave? My views of this war are very private to me, and only a few people know what I think. However, I will say this much.

When you make a mess, you clean it up. Or at least figure out a way to get it cleaned up. You can't just leave it.

Do I have a solution to the problem? Hell no! That is why I dont parade around and argue with people about the situation. I don't judge soldiers or protestors. I have my opinions and they are private. I am tired of people who know NOTHING about politics, or this WAR, standing up on pedestals and ranting about right and wrong, just because it's the hip thing to do.

If you don't know anyone who has been to Iraq and/or if you aren't up to date on your facts. Do the rest of us a favor and shut the fuck up. Save the talking for intelligent people.

(this has been a rare, somewhat political, rant from Dave. Both of these trips add up to about 2 weeks, so I decided to take an online class. Shortly after beginning my online class on Monday I discovered that you need Internet Explorer 6.0 (or better) to run the homework program. Sure enough they stopped making IE for MAC at version 5.2. So I had to drop the class and take a normal class. 5 minutes into my normal class I learn that we will be using the EXACT SAME PROGRAM to submit our homework. It's all online so we can email it to our Prof.

Seeing how SLCC only sells MAC's in their college bookstore, this whole situation seems a little absurd to me. Really? WHATS WITH THESE PROGRAMS THAT ONLY WORK WITH WINDOWS!!!! It's about time to make everything compatible. I have been sweating ever since I took my math final. I was pretty sure I did good, but I was worried. The reason I was so worried is because regardless of your standings before the final, in math, if you fail the final you fail the entire class. I was at an A before the final, but I was just worried I would be so nervous I would screw it up. Thank god everything went fine and I ended up with an A. Not bad for a guy who used to suck at school.

on top of finals being over

GTA 4 has been released and it is everything I wanted it to be. I'm sporting an 80gb ipod, but it is BARELY half full. The reason I am so picky is I like to play all my songs on random while I work. If I have a bunch of shitty songs it brings down the quality of my listening experience.

So.

I am going to start forming a list of bands that are being removed, or have already been removed, from the ipod. These are good bands, but I still dont listen to them... Ever.

First on my list is The Foo Fighters. Yes, that's right, I am deleting Foo from the ipod. I dont understand it. They are a good band, they have catchy songs, they remind me of high school, but overall... I have realized that I really dont like them very much. If they play on the ipod, I skip, if they play on the radio, I switch. The first band to be placed on my list of "Good Bands I Should Appreciate, but don't" is Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters.

forgot to mention...

That bitch who kicked Sunni in the eye bruised her cornea!

Here we go...

Why is it that every single person that I know, who spends a lot of time at the library, complains about the weirdo's they see? I'm not bothered by their complaining, but I am bothered by how many odd balls there really are. At the moment I am watching a tremendously overweight 40 year old man play world of warcraft. How did he get that onto a library PC? Next to him is a large woman, who might be his wife, who is eating so fast that most of her chips are piling on the floor next to her, while she FRANTICALLY checks her myspace. I am not kidding you people, this woman is cramming chips into her face faster than she can swallow.

munch munch munch munch munch

ew

Anyways,

I talked to the engineering advisor here at school today. It quicly became clear that I have to start going to school full time. So starting this fall I should be dissapearing off the earth completely. I will only have time for 3, maybe 4 shifts a week so that will be interesting. I'll have to make some financial cut backs. Do I really need XBox live? a cel phone? TV? or even a car? I will be living on peanut butter and ramen.

I hope this engineering thing pays off.

Top 5 amendment

Hello Friends,

I have made a huge error with my top 5 list. I had no idea it was a true story.

                                    Alexander Supertramp
Feb 12, 1968 - Aug 18, 1992

Sunni "The Champ"

Last night was Martins house warming party. It has been a while since I really let myself go at a party. Fortunately, upon arriving at Martins new house I was handed a bottle of Tanqeray Gin and a bottle of cocktail onions. At this moment I knew madness was in my near future. I have what some people might call a "problem with gin." After a couple hours the gin was almost gone and I was shamelessly singing the lyrics to Weezer in the kitchen. I was completely blitzed, drunk beyond any form of sanity. This would have been fine if it wasn't for the drunk chick. This drunk chick was outside with my girlfriend Sunni, puking and crying. Sunni was outside with this girl because she was trying to help. Drunk girl stands up and decides it is a good idea to puke in the back of someones truck. When Sunni tries to stop her this drunk girl goes apeshit and ends up kicking Sunni in the face. Seconds later a crowd of people run into the kitchen where I am in the middle of a one man dance party, and tell me the news. Being belligerent I charged out of the house and cursed this girl out. Apparently I was so angry and drunk that my fellow party goers were afraid that I was going to hit this girl. I'll curse a girl out, but I wouldn't have actually hit her. That's crazy talk. So while I am being pushed back by a few people I see a blur of black hair streak by me. Sure enough Sunni is trying to kill the drunk girl. So there we are, my woman and I, In the front yard of someones house, both being restrained by worried friends, cursing out a drunk 20 year old until we were ushered away from the party to avoid being arrested (Thank you Nate). I was happy to find out that the drunk girl ended up passing out on Marty's couch and pissing herself sometime in the night. So I guess that makes me feel better. So to all our friends who think Sunni and Dave are to old to party, I beg to differ. My woman and me, we kick it old school. Oh yeah.

Great party, Great friends, and a shit load of free booze. Of course it got wild.

Yummy Music

Tim's post inspired me to watch this video again. We do live in an area where extreme weather tends to appear. Due to this fact we have a small possibility for "snow days" that we all desperately hope for. After the snowstorms I have driven through in the last few weeks, I have realized that this term no longer exists.

Today, when I left for work, it was average weather. The sun was shining, little bit of wind... A taste of spring was in the air. I even decided to swap my wool coat for a hoodie. By the time I got out of work at 3:30 a full blown blizzard had begun. The snow was falling sideways, it was freezing, and the roads were terrible. I called the weather info line expecting my night classes to be canceled (keep in mind this storm is supposed to rage until later tonight). To my suprise nothing has been cancelled. I cant help but wonder... Who's the ASS HOLE who is in charge of making that call? I have a feeling that he/she left work early to avoid the snow and is now sitting in their warm living room LAUGHING at all the students who have to drive through a white hell to get to class. I have a math test tonight, so just skipping wasnt an option.

The roads are terrible and I want to white wash whoever the person is who refuses to shut this place down.

I want my snow day.

ps. Seeing how January of 2008 is almost over i would say it is about time. These 5 albums are not only extremely good, but also the only 5 albums that I really loved all year. I hope somebody can recommend a couple more that I can really get into, because to me... 2007 seemed like a dud.

1. Radiohead - In Rainbows

2. Wilco - Sky Blue Sky

3. Feist - The Reminder

4. LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver

5. Band of Horses - Cease to Begin

I think part of the reason I was so upset with new albums coming out this year is caused by a huge dissapointment. My favorite band, up until recently, was Rilo Kiley. I have loved all of their albums and seeing them live years ago was incredible. Unfortunately for us all, Rilo Kiley has fallen from grace. I thought the Album "Under the Black Light" was awful. I was horrified when I listened to it the first time. I composed myself and gave it one more shot...

after brushing the taste of vomit out of my mouth, I threw the CD away.

Biggest dissapointment of the year...

Rilo Kiley.
